COLUMBIA - Cheryl Lynn Menchinger passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016. Ms. Menchinger was the daughter of Ernest and Irene Menchinger of Chapin and the devoted mother of Patrick M. Egleston of Columbia. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, she was an imaginative, innovative and caring teacher deeply committed to helping special needs children for 20 years.

Ms. Menchinger was a loving and thoughtful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed very deeply by her parents, her son and his fiancee, four siblings and their spouses, six nieces and nephews, one great-niece, and many friends. She was loyal and generous and delighted in applying her boundless creativity to bring enjoyment to her family and friends. An avid and knowledgeable Gamecocks fan, she especially enjoyed Carolina baseball.

A celebration of her life will be held on a future date. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
