COLUMBIA - A Mass of Christian Burial for Leonor Padua, 97, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in Florence National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015.



Mrs. Padua died Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Born in Pasoquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines she was a daughter of the late Vicente Dacuycuy and Petrona de los Santos. Mrs. Padua loved traveling extensively with her husband and other family members while visiting friends and family all over the United States. She was an avid bowler...

Mrs. Padua died Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Born in Pasoquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines she was a daughter of the late Vicente Dacuycuy and Petrona de los Santos. Mrs. Padua loved traveling extensively with her husband and other family members while visiting friends and family all over the United States. She was an avid bowler who loved cooking for family gatherings every Sunday. While her husband was serving in WWII with the US Army and was later taken as a P.O.W. she took care of the family back in the Philippines. She again took care of her family when her husband was called once more to serve during the Korean Conflict.



She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Honesto Padua, and four sisters.



Surviving are her son, Michael Padua of Columbia; daughters, Fran Self (John) of Milton, FL, Josie Hilton (Joe) of Columbia; son, Peter Padua of Columbia; daughter, Remy Henderson of Columbia; brother, Msgr. Vicente Dacuycuy; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
